A Favorite Fat Quarter Quilt+ Printable Quilt Size Guide + More Fall SewingHello quilting friends! I hope this email finds you doing well. Some fun things to share with you today including a reboot of a favorite FQ quilt pattern, inspiration and ways to help during Breast Cancer Awareness month, a free printable Quilt Size Guide, and more scrappy fall/Halloween sewing inspiration. A Favorite Fat Quarter QuiltWith my fabric collection, Mary Catherine, hitting stores recently, I took the opportunity to make a fresh new version some of my favorite past patterns using this new collection and color palette. One of my favorites is this new version of my pattern A Stitch In Time. This classic nine-patch quilt design works so well with the vintage vibe of these prints. I love how it turned out! I've also updated the pattern to be Fat Quarter friendly so it's also perfect for busting through your Fat Quarter stash! AND A Stitch in Time is the Pattern of the week. It's marked down 20% off this week only! Click below for more pictures and all of the details.
#SewPink: Projects to Sew + Ways to Help Breast Cancer PatientsAs many of you already know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I love how By Annie spotlights Cancer awareness and fundraising during the month of October. This week I shared a few projects to make for women going through Breast Cancer Treatment - particularly mastectomies. The Fat Quarter Shop also has a free quilt block pattern download for a Cancer Support Ribbon (above right). I've made one in Pink and one in Gold (for Childhood Cancer awareness) to support two close friends who are fighting this awful disease right now. Click below for all of the details and links.
Free Printable Quilt Size GuideMaybe you're like me and can never remember the standard sizes for bed quilts and have to google "Standard Quilt Size Guide" too frequently. Well good news - Melanie Collette has put together a free printable guide for standard quilts sizes. And it also includes standard mattress sizes for reference as well.
Fun Finds on the Web - More Fall Patchwork InspirationI love this free, scrappy Leaf quilt block pattern from The Crafty Quilter. They would make such a gorgeous quilt - and another great way to use up fallish fabric scraps. Another super cute Halloween quilt that I've seen a lot the past few years is the scrappy Ghost Party quilt pattern. Not last-minute maybe, but you can always save it for next year. If you're looking for an added challenge, Kristy Lea of Quiet Play has a free FPP (Foundation Paper Piecing) Pumpkin pattern. And it you want to make it even more fancy, check out the beautiful table runner pattern here. Modern quilter, Amy Friend, has a really cool modern-quilt version of a spider web block (also FPP). I came across this list of Quilter's Affirmations shared by Erica of Kitchen Table Quilting last year and loved them just as much when I saw them again this year. The temperatures have started cooling off around here and the skies have been a little more moody and I LOVE it. We did get out for a gorgeous fall hike yesterday that gladdened my heart and soul. I have a list of favorite fall spots and I'm trying to hit one of them each week before the leaves are gone. Because the #FOMOOF (Fear Of Missing Out On Fall) is still real. In sad news, this week I cleaned out the garden this week. As previously discussed this was my best garden year ever. And it motivated me so much that we actually put in a few more raised garden beds for next year. It killed a little part of me to say goodbye to plants that were still actively producing. How amazing to still be picking fresh tomatoes and zucchini in October! But, the time has come, and it feels good to start putting the yard (and the yard work) to bed for the season. (Because: more time for sewing.) With darker nights, and more football games for my family to enjoy ๐ I've actually been working on some fun new projects. Excited to share more of those in the coming weeks! Wishing you and yours the very best. xo. AmyIf you would like to stop receiving this content, please click unsubscribe below.
